Astrology/astronomy is the oldest recorded science known to man. Much precious space has been given to recording the appearance, disappearance, and cyclical movements of the Sun, Moon, planets and stars in early man's tedious efforts to communicate his history AND his ideas to future generations. Sumerian cuneiform script on clay tablets dating back over 2,000 years BC had texts correlating time (calendars) to the heavenly bodies. Many tablets also displayed some of the same glyphs and characters that we use today in astrology, while others recorded the close correlation observed between earthly and celestial phenomena.

In the seventh century BC, Assyrian Astrologers became quite sophisticated in predicting eclipses and retrogradation of the planets by observing their movements against the background of the stars and constellations. These observations provided the earliest body of knowledge on which the study of both Astrology and Astronomy are based today. However, this was not the purpose of their observations. The astrologer's responsibilities were to provide their priests and rulers with favorable and unfavorable times for religious and social activities, and for the affairs of state. As a result of their efforts, a considerable body of knowledge and astrological lore was accumulated and recorded.

Early man gazed at the planets and stars and discovered that their positions in the heavens and their distances from each other were constantly changing, and that those changes formed patterns which were repeated and predictable. He observed that all of nature in his world was directly related to those changes. Confined as he was to a small patch of earth where even boundaries and limits were unknown, it is little wonder that he began to correlate the events in his own life with the cycles of the planets and the stars, and to seek to live in harmony with their changing patterns and with nature.

Today's man, through the science of Astronomy, uses these same stars to guide him on his personal visits to some of these heavenly bodies. Astronomy also helps modern man to place his own stars (satellites) in the sky. Some of these provide forms of communication which would be as difficult for early man to believe and understand as it seems to be for some Astronomers and others to believe that the ORIGINAL planets can still communicate influences to man today. Since these influences affect only the feelings, and the individual does have free will to make his own decisions, Astrology cannot meet a "scientific test" of "repeated results under controlled conditions". Neither can religion, for that matter, yet most people believe in some form of religion.

Astrologers have been observing correlations of "As Above, So Below" for centuries, resulting in a tremendous body of knowledge. They are constantly studying, comparing, defining, delineating, and recording these influences and their meanings. Today, sophisticated computers make these tasks easier and the information more reliable. Thanks to the diligence of the ancients for preserving the records and to the enormous capacity of computers to store and sort information, today's Astrologer can cast a better chart and interpret it more accurately and completely than ever before.

The Natal Chart interpretations are found by computing the astrological data for the date, time, and place of your birth. Your chart is unique in its combination of planetary positions, aspects, and influences. There are literally thousands of variables in the natal chart alone, and each individual will usually have less than a hundred of these variables in his or her chart. We will print all of those which apply to your particular birth time and place, and they are what make you the unique individual that you are. We try to present this information in such a way that you can recognize and interpret the "blueprint" of your own "Personality Profile."

There will be Delineations that appear to absolutely contradict each other, and there will be some that you cannot believe applies to you at all. Please try to keep an open mind and read the Natal Report all the way through. We will address all these concerns, and more, on the last page.

Astrology is not "fatalism". "What Is To Be" is not necessarily what WILL be. The individual always has free will to make his/her own choices. Your horoscope reveals the astrological imprints upon your personality at the time of your birth. It has been up to you to decide which influences to accept and which influences to challenge. Personal growth results from those choices. Read the interpretation of your Natal chart and look back on your life. Is this you? Was this you? We think you will be amazed!

On the next page, the computer will print some of the basic technical data it uses to find the parcels and paragraphs of information that is printed out in the following pages of this Natal Report. Remember that this data is derived from the date, time, and place of your birth, and is unique in that it applies ONLY to YOU.

The sign which the Sun was in when you were born tends to give you your astrological identity. How many times have you heard the question, "What sign are you"? . . . How many times have you had people identify themselves with the statement: "I am a Leo, I am an Aries, I am a Pisces", etc. . . . Many times for both questions, I am sure.

Practically everyone knows his or her own Sun-sign. You probably have also noticed that most people have heard some simplistic Sun-sign interpretations and they are likely to add, "I am a natural leader--I'm a Leo, you know"; or, "Of course I have a temper, I'm an Aries"; or, "Pisces people are naturally psychic".

These generalities are sometimes accurate, but not all Leos are leaders, not all Arians have temper tantrums, nor, are all Pisceans especially psychic. Even when these simplistic statements are true, there are many more influences in the Sun-sign of each individual and many other astrological influences that affect that individual's personality. If astrology were taken no farther than the Sun-sign, it would be telling us that we are like every other person who was born under our particular Sun-sign!

The Sun sign IS perhaps the most important SINGLE factor among the thousands of variables drawn from when setting up the horoscope. Through the sign it occupies at the time of your birth, it colors your personality so strongly that it usually can be recognized throughout your lifetime. It indicates the ways in which you express your basic energy potential and your creative drive to grow and develop as an individual. It is also one of the major factors from which you draw upon to develop your personal identity and self worth.

You have only one Sun-sign, however, and even if it IS the most powerful of all the stellar bodies, its influences are modified by the house in which it is found and by its hemispheric location in the chart. Its relationship to the Natal Moon is also legendary, and warrants special attention in the interpretation process. Even more modifications can be expected from the aspects of the Sun to the other planets and to the Ascendant and Midheaven, from what "Mode" and "Element" it is in, and by the house positions of the sign Leo, which is "ruled" by the Sun. When you take all these things into consideration you can certainly see that there is much, much more to your identity than your Sun-sign.

However, this popular interest in Sun-sign astrology does account for a proliferation of Sun-sign publications, and one can find Sun-sign interpretations and legends in literally hundreds of astrological books and magazines today.

In the following delineation of the Sun-sign in your chart, we have tried to include those influences that are most consistent in the interpretations of the ancients, the masters of astrology, and the teachers of astrology--as well as those of the many gifted researchers and newcomers in astrology today.

The Sun is in Libra from approximately September 23 through October 22. Key words are harmony, companionship, and balance. Libra is ruled by the planet Venus, giving its natives grace, charm, and a desire for popularity and the approval of others. The symbol for Libra is the scales, and those born under this sign are constantly seeking balance in their lives--the key phrase is, "I balance". Libra is a Cardinal sign, referring to the present, or the now.

Llewellyn George, in about 1908, said: "In Libra the Sun gives love of justice, peace and harmony. The native is courteous, pleasant, agreeable and as a rule even tempered, affectionate, sympathetic and sensitive to surroundings and conditions of friends. Is a natural peacemaker, just, kind, amiable and generous. Modest, neat, particular; loves art, refined pleasure and amusements; artistic and dislikes unclean work. Is intuitive and has objective foresight. Usually marries young and generally more than once." (Llewellyn Publications, thirty-sixth printing, 1974.)

Max Heindel in his book, "The Message of the Stars" (Rosicrucians, 1927), writes: "Libra is ruled by Venus and is the seventh sign, hence the Sun in Libra combines the influence of Venus with that of the Sun and the Seventh house, with the result that the person loves the marriage partner so devotedly that he excludes everyone else; for of a person with that position it may truly be said that `the Sun rises and sets' in the marriage partner. Libra is also the exaltation sign of Saturn and his influence is there at its best, giving an element of construction to the art of Venus. This is brought about as ability for architecture and the finer branches of decorative construction when the Sun is in Libra. This position also gives a fine, sonorous voice and vocal talent."

Harmony and balance are the keynotes with your natal Sun in Libra. You instinctively understand the need to accommodate the interests and desires of others, and you are always fair and willing to meet the other person half way. Tactful, diplomatic and socially aware, you do all you can to avoid conflict and discord. You express a spirit of cooperation and compromise, and often achieve your goals through charm and discretion which would have been impossible to accomplish by a more direct, forceful approach.

Material things are not as important to you as is the human condition, but you are likely to accumulate things material, nevertheless. You also have a strong need for beautiful, harmonious surroundings and a natural sense of artistic style and grace, which is reflected in the way you dress, and the way you furnish and arrange your home and work-space, etc. Everything must be aesthetically pleasing and appropriate. Working with people as a counselor, advisor, consultant, negotiator, or in an artistic field such as design or photography would be fulfilling for you.

You are probably quick to initiate new projects or ideas, but usually seek the cooperation of others rather than continue alone. You have a special need for companionship in order to be fulfilled, yet you need to maintain your own individuality within the framework of a relationship. Marriage and partnerships could be a primary concern.

Getting along with others and pleasing them may be TOO important to you. You can become too dependent on others' approval and opinions to be effective in making your own decisions. You will rarely act without getting the counsel and feedback of other people. You prefer sharing and doing things together rather than on your own. Being alone feels very unnatural to you, especially early in life. You have a strong need for a partner and for intimate one-to-one relationships. You have a special need for companionship in order to be fulfilled, yet you need to maintain your own individuality within the framework of a relationship. Marriage and partnerships are a primary concern, but as you get older you may become extremely self-sufficient.

When you do look for love, you invest a great deal of your energy into it, and you are very idealistic and romantic about marriage. You seek a partner who is your equal intellectually, and who is capable of a mental relationship as well as a physical and emotional one. You are a thoughtful, considerate friend or lover, and you enjoy the traditional symbols of love--romance, dating, courtship, flowers, etc. Relationships are like an art to you: one that requires time, attention, and creative effort. You appreciate a partner who is subtle and polished, never coarse or dull or blunt.

Fairness and equality, both in your personal life and in the world, are extremely important to you. If you fight about anything, it is often about something you feel is unfair and unbalanced. Balance is crucial to you, but you believe in moderation in all things, avoiding fanaticism and extremism of any sort. You have a strong sense of justice and fair play, and will expect your partner(s) to work as hard as you do. You may find your profession in the law, public relations, art, performing arts, or any partnership which requires tight, close cooperation.

You are intellectual and actively seek knowledge, new ideas, and mental stimulation. You are especially interested in analyzing what is going on in the society around you, and frequently play the role of peacemaker. You seldom express your own anger, but when you do--look out! You leave nothing unsaid. Your anger blow-up is soon over, but it usually leaves you shaken and ill. You have the strength of your convictions, but you care for others and don't like to be the cause of their hurt.

You need to learn to accept that the real world will seldom live up to your expectations for justice and fair play. Life itself is just not always smooth, fair, and equal.

It would be impossible to even estimate the number of individuals who share your Sun sign, but just the opposite is true for your Rising sign. Only those who were born at the same geographic location and at the same exact moment of time could share the same precise second, minute, and degree of the sign upon your Ascendant. A difference in birth time of even a few minutes and/or a few degrees of latitude or longitude can alter the signs upon the houses and the locations of planets within the houses.

The horoscope is a circle, and the whole is made up of its many parts. The well-known Swiss psychoanalyst, Dr. Carl Jung, coined the term, "Synchronicity", for life within the horoscope. Under that concept, the Rising sign represents the beginning of the natal chart as birth represents the beginning of life--the first part of synchronization. Like the horoscope, life is also a circle whose whole is made up of its many parts. Unlike the familiar TV beer commercial, however, we DO "Go around" more than once, and it CAN "Get better than this".

Astrology, by way of the horoscope, symbolically divides life into twelve general areas called houses. There is a sign of the Zodiac upon the cusp (beginning) of each house. Your rising sign (Ascendant) is on the cusp of your first house, and signs upon the rest of the houses are determined progressively from that sign which was rising on the eastern horizon at the exact time and place of your birth. This makes your horoscope as individual and unique to your personal identity as are your fingerprints.

Some astrologers refer to the interpretation of the rising sign as the Mask we show the world--our public image. It is that part of our personality that we feel safe in allowing others to see. It may also disguise those facets of ourselves that we would prefer to keep to ourselves. Consequently, the delineation of influences from your rising sign could very well be descriptions of the way other people see you, though not necessarily the way you see yourself. It is certainly not the whole you or the ONLY you, but it could provide you with a valuable source of insight for enhancing your own self-awareness.

As you read the delineations of your chart, remember we are painting a composite portrait of your personality as revealed by the most prominent astrological influences in force at the moment of your birth. However, for each year of your life, the Sun has touched each point in your chart again. The Moon does this every twenty-eight days: Saturn, every twenty-eight to thirty-one years--and so with all the planets and parts within their own time circle. The ways in which you have dealt with the stresses and supports of your birth imprints and the subsequent aspects applied to your circle of life up to now will help to explain the person you are today.

Some delineations of specific aspects may appear to contradict others in your chart. Actually, there are no contradictions in Astrology--at least no more than there are in the human psyche. We are seeking a blend. It is in the interpretation of the whole chart and its application to the circle of your life that we begin to appreciate Dr. Jung's word, "Synchronicity".

Directly following your Rising sign we will interpret the influences of the signs on the houses (two through twelve) in your Natal chart. These signs are a natural progression from the Ascendant according to the house system used. We use the "Placidus" house system in our work. With this system some houses could enclose a complete sign, and there could be the same sign on two houses, but since it allows for the curvature of the earth, we believe it places the coordinates most accurately to the east and west in both hemispheres.

Leo is the royal sign, the Ascendant of "kingship" and "queenship". The symbol is the lion, the king of beasts. Leo is ruled by the Sun, the source of heat, energy, and light. It projects powerful influences into the lives of those born when Leo is rising over the eastern horizon. They may sparkle brilliantly when the Sun is shining and appear subdued when it is hiding. Leo is a Fire sign in the fixed mode, bestowing a fiery personality influenced by determination and stability.

You appear to others to be dramatic, regal in bearing, and certainly in control of the situation. Leadership seems easy for you and you appear to exude an air of strength, dominance and individuality. It is usually easy for others to recognize you by the abundance of hair framing your face in profusion or swept back like a lion's mane. In addition, the dramatic combinations in color and clothing of your royal attire will give your personality away every time. You may appear to sparkle brilliantly when the Sun is shining and seem subdued when it is hiding. Others see your personality as strongly influenced by determination and stability.

To others, you may look and act ferocious and need to be at the head of the pack, but underneath you are a pussycat who likes to have your fur stroked. However, your enthusiasm and energies ARE high, and you may be impatient with those around you who are less inspired and slower than you. You may assume the leadership role subtly and without any sense of abdication on the part of others--that's just the way things are. You also need to excel in what you do, and anytime you feel failure, you are wounded more deeply than you want others to know. When this happens, you will go into hiding, lick your wounds in private, and restore your sense of self-worth in your own way and your own time.

You admire others who are strong individuals like yourself. When you befriend someone, you are tremendously loyal, sincere, and willing to go to extraordinary lengths to make that person happy. You are very giving and generous, but you expect recognition and appreciation for that which you give. You also expect the same loyalty and generosity to be reciprocated. You often have trouble working with people who are as strong as yourself, for you don't share the leading role very easily.

You have royal taste. Others are likely to judge you as extravagant, for you want to have the very best of everything. You will be tempted to run up bills if that is necessary to keep up appearances. You want to share good things with others, and can be particularly lavish if your sense of luxury is shared and appreciated. If you cannot show your generosity, graciousness and flair for good living, you will suffer deeply. You want to provide comfort for those around you at all times.

Others around you will not know how devastated you feel when you fail to live up to your expectations or to what you think are the expectations of others. But when you hide to lick your wounds, you need to be particularly wary of indulging in alcohol or other drugs to help restore your self-esteem. You could find them to be too effective, causing you to disregard more positive and healthy measures. Mood altering chemicals are likely to produce more euphoria for you than for others.

Others may expect more of you than you think you can deliver. However, you will do well in any profession where leadership ability is required, as in financial institutions and corporations. The profession will be empty though, if there is no applause. You are ever the actor, and could very well be in that star-studded list of men and women in the dramatic arts or in politics, sports, and writing. Many of the world's leaders appear to have your personality. So, all you gotta do is go for it.

VIRGO ON 2ND HOUSE--Mercury rules Virgo in your second house of money matters. This is the planet of speedy communications and intellect, and Virgo is the sign of detail and organization. You will be very particular in the financial area, and your business activities will be well organized. You will like teamwork, and may include friends in financial endeavors. Group activities will be comfortable for you.

LIBRA ON 3RD HOUSE--Libra is ruled by Venus, planet of beauty, art, and material possessions. In the third house of the thinking mind and communications, it influences an attitude of fair play and justice in all these matters. You are brutally honest in communications efforts, and you will expect others to be honest with you. You will desire higher education, and a philosophy you can accept. You will like luxury and travel.

SCORPIO ON 4TH HOUSE--Pluto rules Scorpio on the fourth house of your chart. Scorpio is represented by the Eagle and the Serpent, while Pluto is the planet of regeneration and the underworld. This configuration in the fourth house of home-life can make you gruff with your household, but let outsiders beware! Any criticism from others will be totally resented, even if you agree with them. Yours is likely to be an active home, with a special place, or "den" for you.

SAGITTARIUS ON 5TH HOUSE--Jupiter, the planet of expansion and "good fortune" rules Sagittarius, Sign of idealism and thrust. This combination in the fifth house of romance, children, and creative expression, magnifies the importance of these areas in your life. You are likely to be "lucky-in-love", spoil your children, and to love sports and speculation.

CAPRICORN ON 6TH HOUSE--Saturn, planet of limitations and discipline, rules Capricorn, the sign of conservatism. When in the sixth house of work, service, and health, it influences great depth and seriousness to these areas of life. You will be organized in your work, and when you work, you work hard. You will be disciplined in the services you offer. Health problems are likely to center around the knees, skin, or stomach.

AQUARIUS ON 7TH HOUSE--Aquarius, sign of steadfastness and social responsibility, is ruled by Uranus, planet of sudden changes, inventiveness and the unusual. In the seventh house, they indicate the need for individual freedom in partnerships, and possibly an unusual spouse. Close relationship in marriage is likely. Try to avoid being overly idealistic and of setting unrealistic expectations.

PISCES ON 8TH HOUSE--Pisces, an emotional sign, is ruled by Neptune, the psychic planet of hidden meanings. In the eighth house, a reluctance to dwell upon death or dying is indicated. If inheritances are indicated, they are likely to be under unusual conditions. You may need to be more assertive in dealing with these areas.

ARIES ON 9TH HOUSE--Mars, the action planet of fire and energy, rules Aries, sign of new beginnings. This combination, in the ninth house of the higher mind and needs, can produce the crusader instinct. You are not likely to be limited by traditional religious dogma, but visionary thought will influence studies into the occult.

TAURUS ON 10TH HOUSE--This is the house of recognition, personal achievement, honor, and career or vocation, Taurus, the "bull" is ruled by Venus, planet of aesthetics, material resources, love, and sociability. This configuration on the tenth indicates desire for wealth and recognition to be fulfilled by the profession or vocation. You will earn money to support high standards of living.

GEMINI ON 11TH HOUSE--Mercury rules Gemini, sign of the twins. When found in the eleventh house of friends, love received, and goals it indicates an intellectual duality in group activities. Friends are likely to be intelligent and ingenious, and very much an intellectual stimulation for you. More than one thing can be going on successfully at the same time.

CANCER ON 12TH HOUSE--Cancer, emotional sign of the mother, is ruled by the emotional planet Moon. When found in the twelfth house of hidden matters and the subconscious process, emotions are likely to be very vulnerable. Mysterious feelings from the subconscious can make you want to cry without knowing why. You will seek seclusion at times. This configuration can make you very intuitional and psychic.

Astrology recognizes ten major "heavenly bodies" in the Universe that radiate various influences toward earth, and thus manifest themselves in the lives and affairs of mankind. The Sun and the Moon influences are most recognizable because some of them are visible and tactile, such as light and heat. They also provide the base for mankind's calculation of time--the calendar and the clock. Influences distributed by the other eight planets may be less visible and more subtle, but not less real.

These emanations are constant, but the intensity of their influences can be tempered by the sign they are in, the house of your chart in which they are located, and by their angular aspects to each other. We touched upon this in the introduction to the Ascendant when we also introduced the term "synchronicity". In the following pages we will print the individual interpretations of each planet in your chart with respect to the sign it is in, and its house position.

Following that we will print the interpretation of the planetary aspects to each other. Aspects are specific angles between two or more planets that have been found to modify the influences bestowed. Technically, every angle between planets creates an aspect, but some angles are more significant than others.

Astrology divides these aspects into "Major" and "Minor" categories. Minor aspects are used primarily in astrological research and for very precisely directed work, so we stick to the Major aspects in our general work. The major aspects are: Conjunction (same degree), Sextile (60 degrees), Square (90 degrees), Trine (120 degrees), and Opposition (180 degrees). Don't worry that some of these individual interpretations may seem to conflict with others. We look at the whole person, and the separate parts can modify, reinforce, or nullify each other.

We have pulled all this data together for you as it is displayed in your birth chart. This whole configuration can not be repeated or duplicated during your lifetime. Although the earth in its rotation around the Sun each year goes through all the twelve sign constellations and returns the Sun to its natal position, it takes Neptune 165 years and Pluto 248 years to complete their orbits. The planets are constantly moving their positions throughout the universe so that it is not possible for all the planetary positions and aspects to repeat themselves in your lifetime.

That leaves it up to us as individuals to deal with those influences imprinted upon us at birth and revealed through the horoscope. It is our hope, through astrology, that we may explain what those influences are and thus understand ourselves better. We have free will to make choices--choices which can affect those birth imprints in positive or negative ways. Probably no one of us will ever fulfill the "promises" of the natal chart in our lifetime, but hopefully, knowing what the influences are could help us to make some better choices.

The following planetary sign and house positions are determined by YOUR birth data. There are 384 variations of these positions, as well as many other variables, but only 25 of them apply to each individual. The possibility of another person having the same combination of positions is practically non-existent.

The Sun and the Moon are known as the "Lights" and are not planets in the technical sense of the word. However, they are the most visible and perhaps more influential in affecting man's awareness than all of the other heavenly bodies put together. The blend of the Sun-Moon influences, from the signs they are in, and whether they are in aspect or not, are extremely significant to the personality profile of the new life. The relationship of the Sun and Moon to each other by their position, sign, and aspect and their relationship to the Ascendant can sometimes provide us with an extremely accurate mini-interpretation of the chart. The interpretation of your Sun-Moon combination is printed next. Study it carefully--as well as the next three Sun and Moon sign delineations.

LIBRA SUN AND ARIES MOON--The Sun is in its "fall" in Libra, a Mutable mode, Earth sign. Moon in Aries is in the opposition sign, which is a Cardinal mode, Fire sign. There is a difficult demand for balance between ego assertion and social acceptance. The life-energy craves to live and let live, not make waves, and live in peace, but the Aries Moon demands external drive with flair. This combination indicates that you could be a good initiator but may find it difficult to finish what you start. You are intuitive, and may be able to get others to help you complete your assignments. The self-image can be unusual, especially if your independent individualism gets the upper hand. In that case, a free-wheeling ego can approach the eccentric. Romances can become sensational and flamboyant, and attract much attention, especially if they begin on a social basis. You are likely to be clever and intuitive, but can also be self-centered and impatient. However, you can be very good in a crisis.

SUN IN THE THIRD HOUSE--The Sun in the houses represents the departments of life most strongly affected by individual will and power potential. Your Sun in the third house shows a strong drive to achieve distinction through intellectual brilliance and mental accomplishments. You may have a scientific approach with an urge to know and understand the inner workings of life's processes. You are eager to investigate new things and explore all the possibilities in areas where you function. You will also want to travel. It is important for you to be able to express yourself and communicate your ideas clearly. You need to watch for tendencies toward intellectual arrogance or snobbery, and be careful not to force your ideas on others.

MOON IN ARIES--In mythology the Moon is always female--as the Sun is always male. In most ancient religions and cults, the Moon represents the female force which reflects the male force of the Sun. In astrology, "she" bestows her indiscriminative influences upon both male and female alike, though each sex might respond to the influences in different ways. The Moon in the signs of the Zodiac indicates the emotional responses to life's situations. It determines how you are likely to react to external influences and to the actions of others.

When the Moon is in Aries, you are inclined toward a volatile, emotionally impulsive nature. You could behave in precipitous ways without considering the consequences. You can have sudden flare-ups of temper, but they are temporary and soon over. You are very independent, going it your own way, right or wrong, and will not tolerate interference from others. You could even try to dominate others, and you are likely to take the reactions of others personally.

Women with an Aries Moon in their birth chart are likely to show many of the more traditional male personality traits. They could be more independent and self-sufficient, and may tend to choose careers over the traditional "housewifely" roles. You need to be able to use your initiative, and would not tolerate a tyrannical or prejudiced boss. You could assume the leadership role quite naturally. You will expect the same kind of consideration in all your relationships.

The Aries Moon may enhance the "maleness" of the traditional personality of the man, but it will help to modify the male machismo with some emotional softness. There could still be a temper, but it will be short-lived. This position can give a man a greater measure of warmth and kindness.

For all people, male and female, the Moon here is likely to provide ambition, drive and assertiveness. You will want what you want right now. You will need to practice patience and tolerance. "Lighten-up" should be your keyword.

MOON IN THE EIGHTH HOUSE--The Moon in the houses indicates the areas of daily activity through which your feelings are manifested, and gives clues to the type of activity on the domestic scene. In the Eighth House it often gives a strong psychic sensitivity and intense emotional reactions to unseen forces. You may have a strong interest in spiritualism. You are concerned with financial affairs, such as inheritance, insurance, and taxes, which are likely to be affected through marriage and partnerships. You are probably very sensual in your domestic scene activities. You need to cultivate positive spiritual practices.

MERCURY IN SCORPIO--Mercury in the signs gives clues to the kinds of concerns that occupy your mind, and reveals your psychological approach to making decisions and conveying your ideas to others. In Scorpio it gives you an intuitive mind capable of profound insights. You see things accurately, but not necessarily charitably. You may use sharp language, but you will "call a spade a spade", and will not mince words. If you cannot express yourself openly, you will remain silent. You have much resourcefulness and great determination of mind, and can surmount obstacles that many would not attempt. Watch out for preoccupation with sex and distrust for other people.

MERCURY IN THE THIRD HOUSE--Mercury in the houses deals with the practical affairs that occupy your mind, and shows what areas of activity will be influenced by your thoughts and communications. In the Third House, the mind is inclined to investigate whatever tends to increase your consciousness and broaden your understanding--reading, study, speaking, teaching, lectures, literature, new thought, science, news. It should enhance successful travels, mental development, and matters of correspondence.

VENUS IN VIRGO--Venus in the signs indicates how you express your emotions in personal relationships, and influences your attitude toward material things, creature comforts, and your social and aesthetic values. When it is found in the sign Virgo, you are likely to over-analyze emotions and be very critical of those you love. Be careful lest you set your standards too high and wind up living alone. You may be fastidious about your personal appearance, manners, and hygiene, which could be a cover-up for shyness and feelings of social and sexual inferiority. You may concentrate your efforts in Venus affairs into a primary professional life, in which you are likely to be very successful in accumulating material comforts. You are nurturing by nature and could be very effective in the human services professions. Beware of the tendencies to over-compensate for feelings of inferiority by seeking the bohemian lifestyle of loose living and promiscuity.

VENUS IN THE FIRST HOUSE--Venus in the houses gives us information about how you may express yourself socially, romantically, and artistically in the various areas of your life. In the first house it influences you to be socially outgoing, with a pleasing manner and friendly appearance. It could confer a striking physical beauty as well. You should generally have a happy outlook on life, and your natural ability to mix well with other people should contribute to both good business and exciting romantic opportunities. Artistic talent is also indicated.

MARS IN SAGITTARIUS--Mars, planet of energy, gives us information about modes of action as a result of the desire principle. It influences ambition and indicates some forms of expressing our emotional behavior. In Sagittarius it brings strong religious and philosophical convictions, probably along the more traditional beliefs. There can even be crusader tendencies to try and convert others. You could act out of idealistic motives to try to improve the social order in which you live. You are likely to be open and direct in your attitudes and actions, and people know where you stand. You need to learn diplomacy, however, and to respect the opinions of others. You like adventure and excitement, and may seek distant places to travel.

MARS IN THE FOURTH HOUSE--Mars in the houses indicates the departments of life in which you express your actions and desires, and where you must use initiative and energy to achieve results. In the fourth house position, it indicates that much of your energy will be expended in the home, with vigorous efforts to improve the domestic scene. You will actively seek to acquire property for your later years. You have much energy and a strong constitution, which is likely to be sustained through old age. There could be some conflict with parents, and better family relations can be attained if you move away from your place of birth. You need to work on your emotional self-control in order to achieve domestic harmony.

JUPITER IN SCORPIO--Jupiter in the signs indicates your ethical, religious, and philosophical standards and beliefs, and how you may express these interests. Jupiter in Scorpio gives you a powerful will and deep emotions. Your mind is active and analytical, proud and aggressive, and can function both constructively and destructively with the same amount of enthusiasm. The message here is the strong need for discipline and positive direction. Follow your inclination toward metaphysical and occult studies, seeking positive directions in the psychic regions of your mind. Avoid any attempts to enforce your beliefs upon others and moderate your tendencies to control their social conduct and principles.

JUPITER IN THE FOURTH HOUSE--Jupiter in the houses indicates the departments of life and types of activity through which you express your religious, philosophical, and educational ideas. Located in the fourth house would give the expression over to the domestic areas of your life. You are likely to belong to a financially secure family with a good standing in the community. Your home is likely to be a center for pursuing the Jupiter ideas. It usually gives good fortune in general during the second half of life.

SATURN IN PISCES--Saturn in the signs indicates the areas in which you must accept responsibility, and the ways in which you must practice discipline and develop maturity. This can be a difficult position because the deep emotional feelings and intuition which are identified with the sign Pisces do not lend themselves well to the order and disciplinary influences of Saturn. These influences can cause anxieties and feelings of guilt from unknown, or subconscious sources. There can also be obsessions with past behaviour, some known and some unknown, with a tendency to dwell in the past and not to be able to let it go. However, when the influences of Saturn can be applied positively to these anxieties and emotional discomforts, the thinking mind can help organize your thoughts in therapeutic and progressive ways. You will require time alone for meditation and spiritual direction. With spiritual growth and greater spiritual understanding, this planetary position can provide great power for understanding and helping others. You can uncover the sources of confusion and reveal subliminal methods of dealing with many of the hidden lower forces which are detrimental to man's spiritual progress.

SATURN IN THE SEVENTH HOUSE--Saturn in the houses indicates the areas of life in which we must learn to act with discipline and to express practical ambition through maturity. In seven, it gives you a strong sense of responsibility and justice in relationships and public affairs. You will work hard and conscientiously with others. You are reliable in work, honor contracts, may be interested in law, and will have business organizational ability. Avoid allowing yourself to become inhibited, negative, and critical. Seek positive spiritual guidance and avoid alcohol and other drugs.

URANUS IN TAURUS--Uranus in the signs indicates the ways in which you manifest your urge for freedom and individuality: also the motivations behind your wishes, hopes, and goals of the mind. In Taurus, the subject is usually money and ideas of how to get it and use it. You are likely to seek reforms in business and the economy in practical but unique ways. You can be very determined, and are likely to buck the conservative institutions in business and government that reflect only materialism. You will not want to let excessive materialism dampen your spiritual impulses or the expression of intuitive ideas.

URANUS IN THE NINTH HOUSE--Uranus in the houses indicates the types of activities through which you express your urge toward freedom and individuality. In the ninth house the emphasis is on religion, philosophy, and higher education. You are likely to have progressive and reformative ideas in these areas, and will seek your own methods of expression. You will be attracted to the occult, and are likely to have intuitive, prophetic faculties. You like investigations, and will travel at the drop of a hat or of a handbag. You are interested in the remote past, far distances, and a utopian future. Beware of impractical ideas and fantasies, and avoid alcohol and drugs.

NEPTUNE IN VIRGO--Neptune in the signs manifests more historical and generational influences than personal. It indicates the kind of cultural expression shown by the imaginative and creative faculties of mankind over a given period of time. In your personal responses to Neptune in Virgo, you could show a tendency toward psychosomatic illnesses. You also could exhibit excessive emotional preoccupation with inconsequential detail. You may feel doubt or negativity toward your intuitive impulses, wanting to prove them in materialistic ways with hard, "scientific" evidence.

NEPTUNE IN THE FIRST HOUSE--Neptune in the houses indicates how you express your mystical potential, and may reveal some of the karma produced by your past actions. In the first house, it gives you a sensitive, intuitive awareness of self and environment. You may express yourself through music and art as a promoter or participant (or both). You may be able to provide positive applications of clairvoyance, and, possibly of spiritual healing. You are likely to be closely in tune with psychic forces. Unfortunately, they are not all positive, and you may be extremely sensitive to the others, too. Avoid alcohol and drugs, since they enhance your sensitivity to negative forces. Also, practice discipline so that you live in the real world. Avoid drifting and dwelling too much in a fantasy world.

PLUTO IN CANCER--Pluto in the signs is also historical and generational, but on the personal level it indicates permanent change. In Cancer it relates to the emotional expression and domestic concerns--food, land, and environment. Any changes in your attitudes or beliefs in these areas are likely to be drastic and permanent.

PLUTO IN THE TWELFTH HOUSE--Pluto in the houses indicates in which areas of life you need to exercise conscious creative willpower to regenerate yourself and your surroundings. Twelfth house focus is on the subconscious and unconscious mind, with the need to bring its contents into the conscious realm. You are likely to have profound insight and clairvoyant ability. You will have sympathy and empathy for the less fortunate, and will be able to tap into positive psychic forces to help them. However, your extreme sensitivity to the thoughts and feelings of others leaves you vulnerable to feeling their pain, and you need to exercise restraint in your involvement. You will need seclusion for regenerating your own resources by means of prayer and meditation. You are especially vulnerable to the affects of alcohol and mood-changing substances. Also, avoid negative occult influences.

Following are the interpretations of the planetary aspects to each other. Aspects are angular relationships between two or more planets that have been found to modify the influences bestowed. Significant angles are: Conjunction (same degree), Sextile (60 degrees), Square (90 degrees), Trine (120 degrees), and Opposition (180 degrees). Don't worry that some of these individual interpretations seem to conflict. Remember--we look at the whole person, and the separate parts can modify, reinforce, or nullify each other.

SUN OPPOSITE THE MOON--This opposition indicates conflict between your conscious will and your unconscious mind and feelings. It can cause stresses and relationship problems in domestic, romantic, financial, and marital affairs. There is a tendency to restlessness and nervousness, as your energy level can fluctuate erratically. These influences are of a vague and general character, and may not be consciously recognizable, manifesting themselves in periods of non-specific discontent. There could be difficulty in having children of your own, and parenting may not be a priority, due to some real or imagined experiences of your childhood. You need to learn to let go of the past, and to be realistic about the efforts required to accomplish your goals. You should respect your will-power, but also accept the power of your unconscious. Develop the subconscious through spiritual search.

SUN SQUARE THE NORTH NODE--This square can inhibit your individual expression because of larger events in your society and your feeling out of phase with the times. It could especially affect your social and romantic life. The key here is a watchful and waiting attitude without force and impulsiveness.

SUN SEXTILE MARS--This sextile confers courage and energy, which, combined with its mental nature, supports intelligent and constructive enterprise. It gives you the ability to initiate projects and follow through. You are a good leader and communicate well with friends, associates, and groups. You have strong willpower and are a champion of justice. You are decisive and energetic in achieving your objectives.

SUN SEXTILE THE ASCENDANT--This configuration indicates a harmonious blend of basic consciousness and self-expression. It can make you creative, enthusiastic, and dramatic in your personal relationships, marriages, partnerships, and relations with the public. You should have lots of creative energy.

MOON SQUARE THE NORTH NODE--This configuration may make you feel out of step with the rest of society. You may have difficulty in gaining recognition or fulfilling ambitions where women play a major part in the endeavor.

MOON TRINE MARS--This trine provides an abundance of psychic energy. Feelings are likely to be strong but controlled and positively applied to action. You are likely to be emotionally active and stand up for what you feel is right. You have a good imagination and the ability to apply it to positive action. You could have a unique approach to business and domestic affairs.

MERCURY OPPOSITE URANUS--Oppositions usually mean obstacles to be overcome and this is no exception. You could be blunt and tactless, arrogant and conceited. No one else could make you change your mind about anything, but you may change it without the slightest justification. The key here is to "lighten up". Don't be afraid to be wrong. Cultivate patience and cooperation with others whether you agree with them or not (and you probably won't). Try to avoid snap judgments and sudden decisions--"look before you leap". Seek spiritual guidance for the use of the awesome power this aspect can provide.

MERCURY SQUARE PLUTO--This square permits you to see through any situation, and may make you firm and direct in speech. You will "say what you mean, and mean what you say". You may be secretive and suspicious until you are ready to make your move, so you come across as cunning and quiet. You can alienate others by your harsh words, and it could be better if you remain silent until the facts reveal themselves. You are strong-willed with this aspect, and you must use caution that it is not mis-directed.

MERCURY TRINE SATURN--This trine helps you with mental organization, especially in performing systematic mental work where there is little room for error. It should help you as a student because of the capacity for patience and hard work. It is a good aspect for writers and teachers because of the ability to pay attention to details. You are likely to be serious minded in general and disciplined in your thinking. You need to watch for tendencies toward taking yourself too seriously, and allow for some fun thinking along the way.

VENUS CONJUNCT NEPTUNE--This aspect bestows a vivid imagination and subconscious mind images. Mystical inspiration and visions can find expression in music, writing and art. Your spiritual feelings are likely to be extremely advanced, and healing powers are possible. You are likely to be sensitive, perceptive, and empathetic. You crave emotional rapport, and when it is attained, there is peace and joy for all included. However, you need to watch out for tendencies toward impractical romantic dreams which could make you deceptive in love relationships. Such expectations could put unbearable burdens on others in your life.

VENUS OPPOSITE SATURN--Venus, the planet of arts and beauty opposed by the discipline of Saturn! Yet this can be positive, if, through growth, the things ruled by Venus can accept discipline. You may often feel depressed, however, for spontaneity does not like discipline. The key here is obvious and you have your work cut out for you. You can have disappointments in love, employment, and finances until the conflict is resolved. Seek positive spiritual guidance to curb impulsiveness and depression.

VENUS TRINE URANUS--This aspect indicates an effervescent, fun-loving nature that is full of surprises and tends to see the bright side of life. It is especially favorable for the performing arts or professional sports because it bestows a spontaneous quality to your personality. You will have a distinctive style in any artistic endeavor which should lend itself well to the electronic media--radio, TV, and recording. Whether you perform or not, you are likely to possess the very best and most modern of electronic media equipment. You have a joyous outlook on life, and possess a lot of sex appeal.

VENUS TRINE THE MIDHEAVEN--This a supporting aspect to those in the performing arts, and to others who desire recognition through social activities and human services efforts. It generally bestows beauty, charm, and social grace.

MARS SQUARE NEPTUNE--This square produces "peculiar" emotional desires from deep levels of the subconscious. There is a tendency to self-deception, since you are not always fully aware of your real emotions. The expression may take the form of alcoholism, drug abuse, and/or sexual excesses. There is very likely to be confusion in sexual identity which could result in unhealthy repression of sexual activity or, in the opposite direction, excessive sexual activity and potentially dangerous sexual experimentation. Great energies are released with this aspect which can be directed to positive advantages in art, dance, drama, music, and other art forms requiring your active imagination. Moderation is the lesson here, but take control. Face the emotions by dredging them up from the subconscious, accept what is right for you, and harness the imagination, letting the Mars energy make it work for you in positive ways.

MARS TRINE THE ASCENDANT--This aspect should provide you with a strong constitution, willpower and the ability to make decisions. You lead an active life, and inspire others with your strength and honesty. It is easy for you to gain the confidence and cooperation of others.

JUPITER SQUARE THE ASCENDANT--This aspect can cause you to appear cold and unresponsive to others. Your ability to relate with friendliness and warmth seems to be blocked. Indicates possible marital and relationship problems.

JUPITER TRINE PLUTO--This trine bestows upon you vast physical and psychological powers of regeneration for both yourself and others. It is easy to strengthen your spiritual life with your enormous willpower. Yours could be the faith that "moves mountains". The aspect gives you the ability to focus your concentration through meditation which can produce the power to express your spiritual inspirations in material ways. You have deep insight, which you need to develop through positive spiritual guidance. You will be able to change your life and the lives of those around you for the better.

SATURN SEXTILE URANUS--This aspect can give you the ability to apply the ingenuity of Uranus in organized and orderly ways. You will be a good friend, and good friends come to you as a result. You can be ingenious and inventive, but you should avoid making impulsive decisions.

URANUS SQUARE PLUTO--As we have said before, the influences of Pluto are more historical and generational. Personal applications in your life indicate lessons to be learned in the sexual areas, and, with Uranus involved, bucking the establishment for change. With this aspect, any changes are likely to come slowly, but they have a great chance of being permanent when they do come.

NEPTUNE TRINE THE NORTH NODE--This configuration indicates an intuitive ability to understand prevailing trends in social attitudes and modes of conduct. You are in tune with the times, in other words, and are likely to profit through success and popularity with this rapport.

NEPTUNE TRINE THE MIDHEAVEN--This trine indicates that your intuition can be used to your advantage in your profession, helping you find solutions to problems and to sense the moods of superiors and others in positions of authority. The same intuition can be applied with lesser influence to domestic problems. The aspect indicates you will like to live near a large body of water.

Getting together all the information that makes up the face of your chart has primarily been mathematical and scientific--in a word, technical. The computer has used the date, time, and place of your birth to select and print out the interpretations of your Sun-sign, your Rising Sign (Ascendant), the Signs on the Houses, the Signs and Houses the Planets are in, and the aspects of the Planets to each other. These interpretations apply only to YOU.

In interpreting the total Personality Profile, however, we must add two more dimensions to the technical: "Symbolism" and "Intuition". These operate mainly from our subconscious mind. Allow your intuition full play as you carefully study the face of the chart and allow its symbolism to "speak" to you. Often the chart can provide a key which opens the subconscious. If you don't consciously "feel" anything, don't worry about it. Just allow the full power of your intuition to apply, and keep your mind as open as you possibly can.

Now go back and read the printouts again: all the way from the Sun-sign through the aspects of Pluto. Try not to reject any statement--not those you dislike, or even those you like. Note any statement which you strongly agree or disagree with, and mark it for later study. Then add all statements which seem to contradict each other to the list. When you study the "contradictive" statements, try to determine if any of them might apply to you at a different time, or in a different place. Then consider if the pair could modify each other and produce an interpretation that does apply to you.

Astrology is not judgmental--it just IS. It doesn't tell us what is "good" or "bad", it only tells us what the influences are. We give the most optimistic and positive interpretation to that information that we possibly can. However, it has been our experience that often the most valuable information we can get from a chart is the awareness of those obstacles and stresses we need to overcome in order to grow and fulfill our lives according to our own individual value systems.
