Introduction

The following pages contain a brief evaluation of key elements of your birth chart, although it is by no means complete. Astrology can reveal many things about a person's life and personality, and you could study your chart for a lifetime without knowing the answers to all of your questions. The descriptions that follow will give you a "thumbnail" introduction to yourself through astrology.

In interpreting your chart, this report considers the sign of the planets and the north node in your chart, as well as their house placements. It also describes the sign of the Ascendant and the strongest aspects between the planets.

You may note that some of the following descriptions appear to contradict each other--and indeed we are all walking bundles of contradiction. If you examine yourself carefully, you will probably realize that you do in fact possess the qualities of both conflicting descriptions. Even though some parts of the reading may seem to clash, you will see that certain themes are repeated throughout the following pages. These are the ones that will become major issues in your life.

The readings stress that you are the ultimate decider of your fate. The stars may indicate the hand you were dealt at birth, but it is up to you to play that hand well enough to achieve your goals. Also, bear in mind that every "bad" aspect of a chart also has a "good" side. How it is expressed is really up to you. We tend to work at expressing ourselves more positively most of the time and only lapse into the negative behavior described when depressed, angry or scared. Or it is possible that some aspects may better describe your personality or behavior earlier in life. They may seem alien now because you have already worked through them.

A "Strength" number precedes each aspect description; this number takes into account how exact the aspect is, whether the aspect is a major or minor one, and whether an aspecting planet is close to one of the four chart angles. The higher the Strength, the more you are likely to feel the aspect and to act it out in your life.

Planets in Signs and Houses

Aries Ascendant

You enjoy being the leader in any project you undertake and are generally aggressive and outgoing. If you carry your aggressiveness to an extreme, you will act impulsively and rashly. This may even result in injuries, especially to the head or face. Don't be too hasty when taking action. Lay careful plans for your future and then implement them step-by- step. Others may consider you blunt and tactless at times, and it is not easy for you to compromise. You have a quick temper, but you rarely hold a grudge for any length of time. You may have strong reactions to the people you deal with and will either consider them friends or enemies; you see little gray area in between.

You are generally healthy; your main problem areas will be headaches and kidney problems. You don't like to take medication, and are very impatient with illness or pain. In order to better handle health problems (and everything else), you need to develop a more patient, placid approach to life.

Since the Ascendant has a great bearing on the physical appearance, you will have Aries features. Your hair is plentiful (although men may have a receding hairline or bald spot), you are usually slim, and you have sharp features. Although the symbol for the sign Libra is the scales, Libras seldom achieve balance. Like the scales, they dip first to one side and then the other, always seeking equilibrium but rarely finding it. They are very concerned about justice and doing what is right, yet their idea of what is right may change radically along with their moods. Libras pride themselves on their sense of social grace and prefer to hang around others who are similarly inclined. They love to surround themselves with beauty and prefer a peaceful, tranquil environment. Their voices are melodic and soothing, and they are very charming and romantic. Libras are usually physically attractive, and this ensures a wide choice of potential lovers.

Libras love to fall in love, and much of their time will be spent thinking of romantic matters. Yet many Libras have difficulty finding satisfaction in love because they are constantly weighing and balancing their partner in comparison to their ideal, which is very hard to live up to. They often allow themselves to be too guided by "oughts" and "shoulds" when judging a partner's desirability. As a child you were probably quite shy and preferred to stay on the sidelines rather than jump into the midst of competition. Although you were very self-conscious in your youth, every task you undertook was done well--and you maintain and improve upon this quality as you mature. You expect perfection from yourself--and nothing less.

Since you are rather submissive in nature, you must be careful not to be dominated by others in your life. If you let them run your affairs, you will regret it and will be very unhappy in such relationships. Be more self-confident and less self- critical. You have a gift for organizing your affairs and are willing to work hard for what you get. Moon in Aquarius

With your Moon in Aquarius you are highly imaginative and should direct this energy into creative channels. You are very open-minded about the changing trends in society and can adapt quite easily.

Most of all you love to shock others with your opinions, which often violate taboos. You can see the need for old arbitrary restrictions to be cast aside. Freedom is very important to you, but you must sometimes remember to extend the same freedom to your partner.

You are a mixture of radical thought and conservative action and are sometimes plagued by anxiety and tension. Often you take on others' problems or causes without getting anything in return.

In relationships you seek a person who is somewhat unusual. You look for a companion who can share many interests with you. The one drawback of this moon placement is a tendency to gossip and spread rumors. Your friends mean a lot to you, and you rely on them for support and encouragement. It is important that your friends be trustworthy, and you often become friends with your friends' friends, keeping to the circle that you feel comfortable with. At times those around you may feel that you are being aloof and even cool. You are actually just being objective, and whether you are attentive or detached may depend largely on your mood. Try to be more consistent for your friends' sake, at least until they get to know and understand you.

North Node in Libra

You have a rather suspicious nature and don't let others close to you too easily. If your partner does not feel as strongly about you as you do them, you will become deeply hurt and even vengeful. Emotional happiness does not come easy for you, and you experience a lot of pain along the way.

The source of this problem may go back to your childhood when you felt resentment and frustration over your parents' attempts to control your life. Perhaps you feel they punished you unfairly and you expect others to let you down in a similar fashion. So you launch preemptive strikes, to be sure you get them before they get you. This is not a good way to win friends and influence people.

Moon square Mercury (Strength: 01.98)

You are very sentimental with loved ones and prized possessions. You often feel unappreciated, no matter how much you try to please those you love. In a way, this is a selfish attitude. You need to do things for others without expecting an equal return. You can get too wrapped up in yourself.

Your judgment is not always sound because you allow your feelings to interfere with your clear thinking. It is impossible for you to be impartial on anything, because you are overly sensitive. Fact and fiction seem to blend together at times and are hard for you to separate. You may have misunderstandings with others because of your paranoia about not being accepted.

Moon inconjunct Venus (Strength: 01.68)

This aspect shows that you give greater importance to the needs of others than to your own. You are always the first to make concessions, even though others are not expecting you to. You are not able to judge your own worth and the worth of others because of your intense emotional reaction to others. You need to detach yourself emotionally and then logically decide how competent and valuable you are.

Because you are naturally self-effacing and submissive, you attract others who would take advantage of your lack of self- worth. If it seems to you that others are constantly taking advantage of you, just remember that they cannot take anything from you which you do not freely give. In other words, you must simply learn to say "no" to others' needs more often and "yes" to your own.

Your extreme desire to please others can obscure your perspective of fairness. Don't allow coworkers to dump their unwanted duties and responsibilities on you, and don't be afraid to speak up when someone tries to take advantage of you. In love relationships, you seem to attract partners who constantly demand that you prove your love to them. This often puts you, a "giver," in relationships with "takers." Again, remember to keep the scale more balanced in your dealings with others. Otherwise, you'll only end up feeling used, and you'll be right.

Sun opposite Ascendant (Strength: 01.65)

Relating to others is very important to you, and at times you may place the needs of your partner above your own. This can be an admirable trait as long as you don't get carried away. Be sure that your needs are also being considered in every decision you make. You feel lost and alone if you are not in a love relationship, and you will make your love life the major priority in your life. If you don't have a lover, you will still derive a great deal of satisfaction from a close and productive business partnership with someone whose needs are harmonious with your own.
