Parans occur when two or more celestial bodies are crossing the horizon
and/or meridian at the same time. The horizon is where the earth meets the
sky from wherever your are looking in all directions. The meridian is a circle that
runs from
the northern point of the horizon to the zenith directly above, then
the southern point of the horizon and to the nadir directly below. Where parans occur for an individual the nature of the celestial bodies involved bring their characteristics to the forefront for that person.
