From an esoteric point of view your birth chart is a portrait of your soul's intention for this lifetime, the lessons to be learned, qualities to develop, problems to be resolved, service to be rendered.  From that perspective, the choices one makes in one's daily life have reverberations that may last beyond even this lifetime.

This report is written to help you clarify your lessons and goals, illuminate your struggles, and encourage you to move in the direction of your true purposes.

The best to you on your journey...

Chapter 1: The Moon

The placement of the Moon in your birth chart is very significant from a karmic perspective, as it indicates the accumulated karmic tendencies, both positive and negative, that you carry from your past incarnated experiences on earth.

While the Sun reveals your intended purposes and lessons for this present life cycle, the MOON represents what you have already done and developed, hence, what is instinctive and natural to you, and what you tend to do over and over again. Your childhood is also reflected in the Moon's placement, as it is through those childhood circumstances that any unresolved past-life issues are re-stimulated.  Your subconscious predisposition is indicated by the Moon's position.  It is the psychic imprint of the past.  The nodes of the Moon describe behavior patterns from the past, as well as delineating a direction out of outworn or overdone behaviors and habits.

Moon in Cancer:

You instinctively respond to stress by retreating, withdrawing to protect yourself, or if at all possible, by avoiding the trouble altogether.  Exquisitely sensitive to the psychic and emotional currents around you, and acutely alert to nuances and indications of potential threat, you are apt to "run for cover" when emotionally challenged.

A strong home base is vital to your sense of security, well-being, and ability to function smoothly in other areas of your life.  You have an intense aversion to disharmony in your home or family circle, and separations between family members affect you profoundly, and permanently. (It has been said that elephants, women, and anyone with the Moon in Cancer NEVER FORGETS).  For good or ill, your relationship with your mother, and the emotional tone of your earliest years, is all-powerful in your life. Whether or not you recognize it consciously, your attachment to her is very, very strong.  Often there are elements of mutual dependency or a blurred sense of boundaries between the two of you.  You are apt to have been "mama's girl" or "mama's boy", and the normal developmental thrust to push away in order to establish yourself as an individual in your own right may have been an especially hard transition for you, or accomplished incompletely. (Sometimes, also, it is the father and not the mother who bonds with and nurtures the child, and who is thus the object of attachment discussed here).

The need for mother and mothering is so deep-seated in you that as an adult you may seek this type of relationship with your mate, or friends, or spiritual mentor.  Many a Moon in Cancer person is drawn to the Goddess aspect of the divine or to a female teacher they refer to as "Mother".  Becoming a mother yourself may be a fierce longing in you, too, for you also have the capacity to give the support and tenderness you hunger for yourself.  (Even some men with Moon in Cancer confess a particularly poignant, wistful envy of women's ability to conceive, birth, and breast feed their children.  When they are being really honest they also admit that they are incredibly jealous of the baby at times!  If you are one of those men, you may take comfort in the fact that your maternal instincts and ability to nurture your children are at least as good as any woman's and probably better, as this moon position indicates many female lifetimes and much past experience as mother and nurturer).

While parent/child relations are enormously important to you, it would be wise for you not to direct your entire emotional focus on your children or to rely solely on them to satisfy your great yearning for emotional closeness and union. You have a tendency to smother.

Emotional dependency is a major concern of yours, and you are apt to struggle against regressing into babyish behavior and being too needy.  Your subconscious wish to be taken care of is deeply ingrained.  At times you may attempt to completely deny these powerful feelings (and, once again, if you are a man society's dictates prohibit them), but this is apt to backfire on you. It is most desirable for you to learn healthy ways to care for yourself and how to be close to people without clinging or setting up your partner to be a parent - substitute.  Until you establish your own inner center and your own individual identity, worry, anxiety, and feelings of insecurity may be emotional habits of yours.  However, even at your finest, you will probably always be a rather moody creature, with fluctuating emotions and a constant ebb and flow of feeling, ups-and-downs.  For you, emotional balance means knowing how to ride the waves, rather than aiming for some tranquil, unchanging state.

North Node in Sagittarius:

In your incarnational past, you tended to live moment to moment, gathering experiences without focusing on where you were headed or the overall meaning or purpose of your experiences. Your growth direction is to discover the meaning, the larger pattern, or universal principals operating in your life, and to focus on creating a future in line with those principles.

North Node in 7th house:

Your past tendency is so natural to you, so much a part of how you are, that you probably do not think twice.  Let others help bring out your new attitude or growth direction; be willing to be a learner.  Selfishness and a deeply rooted "me first" attitude needs to give way to a consciousness of "us" and/or what you can do with or for the other.

Chapter 2: The Sun

The Sun in your birth chart represents the primary creative thrust for this lifetime, those qualities you are to develop (or further develop) and express, and your current life focus.  This may be in harmony with your instincts and your emotional habits, or along completely different lines.  The Sun represents your conscious identity in this lifetime.

Sun in Pisces:

The flowering of compassion through your ability to merge on a feeling level and to empathize with all, is a key theme for you in this lifetime.  This propensity to share others' emotional experience has both its blessings and its deficits. At your finest you have a deeply-felt understanding of human nature which goes beyond words or intellect, and which enables you to forgive others' misdeeds and make allowances for their weaknesses.  You are acutely aware of others' pain, including the emotional wounds and brokenness they carry within, and your ability to listen with an understanding heart and to unconditionally accept people as they are can be a healing influence in their lives.  You are inclined to exclude nobody. At a deep level you feel and know your oneness with all creatures, and thus every snail in the garden or stray cat is part of your "heart's family".

However, this same all-embracing emotional/psychic openness and receptivity can be the source of some of your greatest challenges in life.  It is easy for you to become overwhelmed by the world and its sorrows, and to seek some form of escape from it and from your own extreme sensitivity; for instance, over using drugs or alcohol or even food to alter your mood, or retreating from life into the unreal world of television or other diversions. You may simply withdraw into your own private fantasies to avoid confronting the challenges in the physical world.  At its worst this tendency can devolve into evasiveness and playing ostrich about important issues in your life.  While your imagination and your sensitivity are the well spring of some of your richest experiences and gifts, if over indulged you may become passive, ineffectual, lost, or confused.  Especially when young, you may lack a strong sense of self, of definition and identity, because on a feeling level you identify with others so easily.  It can be difficult for you to separate yourself, to know what your boundaries are, when to say no or how to stand up for your own personal interests.  Since you are not narrowly focused on self, others may take advantage of your natural generosity and sympathy. Learning and incorporating the concepts of discrimination and clear judgment will enable you to give of yourself in ways that are healthy for you and the ones you are giving to.

Part of your soul development in this lifetime also has to do with taking what others discard and fixing, saving, or redeeming it in some way.  This could take many forms, from repairing and recycling old "junk", to working with people who are disadvantaged, such as, the misfits, outcasts, sick, weak, poor, or handicapped in our society.  This urge to fix what is broken, to heal and to make whole again has, once again, a light and a dark side to it - the dark side being that you could easily become a martyr, sacrificing yourself for the supposed benefit of another while drawing in trouble yourself.  However, if you learn self-responsibility, your gift for healing or putting things back together again can be fulfilling to you as well as benefit many others.

At times you may feel that you do not really belong in this world for you are so attuned to the nonphysical, intangible world of feeling and of the soul.  An underlying sense of "cosmic homesickness" and a yearning for the peace and completion of the beyond may be ever present with you.  (This can lead you to become lackadaisical, wasteful, or out of touch with the material world).

However, attuning to this inner or transpersonal realm, and bringing back its gifts to share in this one, is really your challenge.  Music or art may be your vehicle.  You could develop your psychic sensitivity in order to help guide and teach others, or simply live your life in a way that expresses and honors your larger vision and your compassion.

Chapter 3: Rising Sign

The point that was on the eastern horizon at the moment of your birth is called the ASCENDANT, or rising sign.  While the Sun describes your conscious direction and current life focus, and the Moon your subconscious predisposition and past, the Ascendant indicates a way of being that transcends and embraces past, present, and future.  It describes the way you engage and merge with the outer world and how you bring through into life the energies depicted by the Sun, the Moon, and the rest of your birth chart.  Everything is filtered through the Ascendant from an esoteric point of view.  It indicates your soul's function and thus a key part of your destiny.

Gemini Rising:

Friendly, bright, curious, quick, restless, and highly verbal, you are a communicator.  Your function is to be a MESSENGER, a link or bridge between people and between ideas, whether through teaching or speaking, selling or simply circulating socially.  You make connections.

Gemini Rising and Mercury in Aquarius:

Your ruling planet Mercury is in the idealistic, humane and future-oriented sign of Aquarius.  You are interested in sciences, progressive or utopian ideas, reforming society, advances in the fields of education or communication, and/or group process.  Your ideas may be considered odd, extreme, radical, or ahead of their time - and that is what they are supposed to be.  Introducing new or "revolutionary" concepts is a key part of your function.

Chapter 4: Saturn, Your Achilles Heel

Karmically considered, the placement of Saturn in your birth chart indicates where your energetic blockages, weaknesses and fears lie, and the areas of your life where the most concentrated effort and discipline will be required to master and overcome them.  Yet it also points to the aspects of life which can become your greatest strength if you are willing to face your fears and difficulties honestly, and work with them patiently.

Saturn in Cancer

You have great fears of being vulnerable and needy, of being hurt or rejected, of letting others see the dependent, childlike, tender, feeling side of yourself.  You may stifle these feelings and put on an armor of detachment or stoicism, shouldering everyone else's burdens and responsibilities but never letting on that you would like to be taken care of sometimes.

Although you crave acceptance and a feeling of belonging, you may distance yourself from the very people who might genuinely care for you (whenever they get too close) or you may deny altogether your needs for human connection and intimacy. You feel awkward and clumsy expressing tenderness or anything resembling sentimentality, and may feel quite aloof from your family (as well as the softer side of your own nature).  On the other hand, you may cling tenaciously to your home and family as a base of security, and depend on them excessively or need constant reassurance from them.  An inordinate emphasis on loyalty and responsibility in personal relationships (on your part) may stem from a basic insecurity and a fear of being deserted.  At worst you may be terrified of anything unfamiliar.

A karmic tie to your mother, a strong sense of indebtedness and/or guilt, or the deep feeling that something was missing in your relationship to her is also indicated.  Lessons regarding parenting, and giving and receiving nurturance, are crucial for you in this lifetime.

Saturn in 2nd house:

The arena of money, material assets and financial security is where many of your challenges or blockages arise.  It is not so much that you are likely to be impoverished as that you fear you will be.  Acting from this contracted state, you may make poor financial decisions, fail to take opportunities presented to you, or even act against your own best interests and higher impulses wherever money comes in to the picture.  The Universe will not be very forgiving if this is so. You are apt to pay heavily for mistakes you make (whether practical or moral) in this area of your life.  Any tendency toward greed, stinginess, or unwillingness to share what you have will exact a toll either on your body or your own financial success.

One of the essential lessons for you is to learn to appreciate the true value of things.  Having to work hard to earn your way, or enduring periods knowing, then, that your worth is not dependent upon "having" but on being, and that you can be happy in simplicity, you will be free of the hold money or "security" has upon you.

Saturn is Retrograde:

All of the above is complicated by the fact that you carry a rather heavy burden of self-doubt, mistrust, or guilt over having let yourself and others down in your past, when you struggled (and failed) with these same issues.  You now have the opportunity to correct your course, make amends and resolve a difficult karmic tangle, or a difficult state of mind.

Saturn Quincunx Mercury:

Your mind is serious, deep, and critical. Basically pragmatic and conservative in your thinking, you require concrete, empiric evidence to justify a belief.

You can be very one-sided in your thinking, full of doubt, disbelief and skepticism which effectively filters out any information that might enlarge your view of reality. Mental habits that can severely limit you are pessimism, harsh or exacting perfectionism, and a kind of superior judgmental attitude toward those who are less intellectually discriminating than yourself.  On the other hand, you may worry that others are more intelligent than you are.  On a social level, you may find it difficult to make amiable, superficial chit-chat, and may unintentionally keep potential friends, allies, and opportunities at bay. At its worst, severe shyness or a kind of social phobia may develop.  Problems with speech or hearing, and an inner reluctance to communicate or listen are also possible. Consciously using humor, comedy or "laugh therapy" on a regular basis would be very beneficial to you, lightening your mental burdens considerably.  Listening to light, playful flute music, bells or chimes can also be helpful. The development of a basically positive, optimistic philosophy of life would enable you to lessen the effects of a mental patterning that is frequently intolerant, overly cautious, or fearful.

The wearing of sapphire can help activate the more positive qualities here: mental concentration, depth, focus and clarity.

Saturn Quincunx Neptune:

Your psychic antennae seem particularly sensitive to the pain of the world, and you are apt to take your spiritual and moral responsibility to respond to this very seriously.  However, you carry a pattern of absorbing and taking on the burdens and suffering of the world, and because of this you may struggle with pessimism and discouragement, periodically becoming overwhelmed. Furthermore, your imagination tends to amplify these problems so that your view of reality can be rather sorrowful. It is important for you to learn to use your imaginative faculties constructively, and also to recognize that many of the nebulous worries you have are unfounded.

Past incarnations as monk, nun, ascetic, or ashramite during which a worldly life was considered antithetical to inner development or progress toward God continue to influence you. You may be hampered in your material progress by devoting yourself entirely to the spiritual life.  A persistent desire to retreat from the world and leave all superficial distractions behind stems from this also.  One of your karmic lesson is to integrate the inner or spiritual life with your ordinary existence.

Saturn Square Pluto:

You have an opportunity in this lifetime to clear away some very deep and destructive karmic patterns which are related to ancestral and group experience as well as the personal, experiences such as devastating loss and/or mass death.  In order to release yourself from the psychic wounds you carry, you will have to enter into the darkest regions of humanity and your own soul. Periods of isolation and deep loneliness, or feelings of being cut off from all external sources of support are also a part of this pattern.

You may find yourself drawn to periods in history that seem to touch a deep chord within you.  You are drawn to times in which cruelty, oppression, misuses and abuses of power and very dark forces were at work, such as the Nazi holocaust, the inquisition, witch burnings. In whatever ways you find to clear away the fears, hatred, bitterness, and desire to retaliate or destroy, etc. that you harbor from those times, you will be contributing to healing these atrocities on a mass level as well. You may also carry a powerful unconscious charge of guilt related to your own past abuses which can lead to self destructive urges. Bringing this into a place where forgiveness and release can happen is very important soul work for you.

Chapter 5: The Hard Aspects

The following is a description of your MAJOR LIFE CHALLENGES, both in terms of energies you are to learn to develop and express in a positive way, and those which are the result of struggles and unresolved karmic issues which you have brought into this life.

Mercury SemiSquare Jupiter:

Forging a link between your conscious intellect and your super-conscious or higher mind is a major focus for you in this lifetime.

This may be felt initially in a number of ways: an urge to expand mental horizons and absorb as much knowledge as possible through broad study or world travel, an attraction to spiritual philosophy, or simply as mental restlessness and dissatisfaction with the mundane details of life.  What you are seeking is to see the larger pattern, an overview which gives both an integrated understanding and meaning to one's experiences.  This cannot be apprehended solely through the conscious intellect, but comes through the capacity to intuit and make connections and see patterns. This desire to see the big picture sometimes translates as a certain sloppiness or imprecision in your thinking.  The broad brush strokes are often enough for you.  Also, you quickly grasp the overall idea or concept and do not want to get bogged down with the particulars.

You tend to focus on what is possible (the limitlessness of potential) rather than what already is.  Optimistic and open-minded, you see reasons why things could happen rather than why they cannot.  The development of this kind of faith and the belief in things not yet realized is also an aspect of your linking your conscious mind to your higher mind.

The ability and the calling to communicate truth is a part of this energy pattern as well.  When out of balance you can be preachy, exaggerate what you know, or think you know it all. Channeled positively and productively, you could evolve into a teacher who brings parts of the world together.  Long distance communication and journeys (both in the physical, outer world and in the inner realms) are part of this aspect.  At your finest with this particular pattern, you will act as a mediator or bridge between different places or realms.

Uranus is Retrograde:

All of the above is complicated by the fact that in prior times, you experienced great personal instability as a result of impersonal, collective impulses toward change (during a time of revolution, political upheaval, war, etc.).  You may well have been an agent of these movements, with a lingering inclination toward radical solutions, extremism, flauntingly disregarding social mores.  Or you may have become a reactionary, fearing and resisting all reforms or departures from the "main stream".  It is thus difficult for you to be balanced and fair towards any eccentricities (in others or even in yourself).  A misuse of science or technology, perhaps participating in experiments which were harmful to you or others, is also indicated.  Thus, you may have a deep distrust of or an attraction/repulsion toward science and technological advancement.

Pluto is Retrograde:

These issues are further complicated by the fact that in a prior life or lives you experienced a terrible betrayal, and may even have been tortured or put to death when you claimed power (social, political or spiritual).  You may have misused power or employed Machiavellian strategies in which many suffered. Whether you were a perpetrator or a victim of such abuses, deep fears were engendered at that time, of being powerful or of people in power who would crush you if you display your strengths.  An unconscious desire for revenge may motivate you and prevent you from healing.  Letting go of this may require deep inner work and some kind of therapeutic energetic release of the grief you hold.

Chapter 6: Soft Aspects

The following is a description of your GIFTS and STRENGTHS which can help you work with your major life challenges. These are abilities and qualities of heart, mind, and soul which are quite natural to you.  You probably take them for granted. Because these represent the lines of least resistance for you, you may rely too much upon them at times; hence, there are some cautions suggested.  Still, these are the areas where good flows into your life and/or where you have considerable inner resources.

Sun Trine Uranus:

You tend to be a little different, and just a bit ahead of the pack, and are not one to bow to tradition for tradition's sake or to cling to old, outworn customs or methods.  Your strengths are your penchant for originality and invention, your creative spirit, and your ability to sense future developments before they happen.  You are one of the avant-garde, and embrace the new long before it becomes popular or accepted by society at large.  As such, you may be seen as an outsider or a threat to more cautious individuals or institutions, but this is not likely to trouble you much.  As long as you are free to act as your own heart dictates, you will be quite happy without the support of the conservative element.  Your courage and your willingness to be unique and to be yourself in all circumstances is part of your gift to life, as you encourage others to be true to themselves and not one of the sheep. Another strength you possess when meeting challenges is knowing when to move, when to let go of the secure and make a change for the better even amidst uncertainty and a lot of unknowns.

Mercury Trine Pluto:

You have a gift for intellectual strategy and solving mysteries and puzzles.  Intense mental focus and concentration, combined with your acute perceptions, enables you to do "magic" when you set your mind to it, and your wizardry in some specialized field may be well known.

You are deeply interested in what lies below the surface in any situation or person, and have an instinctive grasp of these subtleties.  You may, for instance, use your hands to perceive the auric field, discover imbalances, and transmit healing energies to the one in need.  The deep study of esoteric subjects, as well as the development of your mental powers, is natural to you, for you have pursued these areas in your incarnational past.  This knowledge can be reawakened in you rather easily, and you are likely to be a teacher and/or transmitter of the understandings you have gained.

Mercury Sextile Neptune:

An innate understanding of spiritual and metaphysical principles, and a direct perception of the inner world (via intuition, clairvoyance or clairaudience, etc.) enables you to speak of or teach others these subjects.  Your conscious mind links easily and readily to other dimensions.  This is something you probably take for granted and it may happen without any conscious effort or intent on your part.  You are like a "cosmic radio" and you may pick up certain vibrations and the feelings of others without realizing you are doing so.  You also have a sensitive nervous system which responds quickly to stimuli, so you require a harmonious atmosphere in order to function at your best.

Your psychic and/or musical, artistic, and poetic sensibilities are pronounced due to prior development in these arenas.

Venus Conjunct Jupiter:

In your incarnational past you have enjoyed ease and wealth, and have thus developed a taste for "the finer things", and a certain level of comfort and material well-being.  You expect to be well provided for, and will attract prosperity quite easily. However, you may also take much for granted or be disinclined to put yourself out very much.  If you can avoid the "spoiled prince" or "spoiled princess" attitude, your more golden qualities will help you create a satisfying life for yourself. These personal attributes include generosity, friendliness, givingness, tolerance, and the ability to make others feel comfortable, accepted, and good about themselves.  Humor and a light touch are also among your gifts.

An appreciation for beauty and culture is well developed in you also; and you could be a sponsor and supporter of the arts in your community.

Mars Sextile Jupiter:

You have developed the capacity to direct your masculine/active, yang energies in healthy and positive ways. Thus, you have confidence in your "masculine" strengths and abilities.  Ennobled by ideals of fair play and concern for the broader social implications of your choices, your actions are most often fortunate, leading to success and increased opportunities.  A gift for leadership and inspiring others is also yours.  Physical playfulness is an important way you can re-create and rejuvenate yourself.

Neptune Sextile Pluto:

Collectively, this is a time in history that enables you and those of your generation to advance spiritually through a heightened awareness of the invisible and intangible realms.  A rebirth of spirituality through direct contact with higher forces is occurring in this generation.  This contact takes many, many forms, including a compelling interest in life beyond death.  You may or may not have a personal involvement with this, as it is a group karma rather than a primarily personal one.
